Spiclypeus shipporum

The skull is a little bit like a Triceratops with its three horns, but Spiclypeus is unique among Chasmosaurinae in having a wrinkled nose bone and the trait combination of eye-socket horncores that project to above and sideways, all six epiparietals (frill horns) that are fused at their base, first two epiparietals pairs that curl down the frill surface on its front side, and third epiparietal pair that points back and towards the mid-line of the frill.

The under jaw of the model is movable and the angle of the skull is adjustable with the brass thumb screw.

This museum quality sculpture is based on the one in the natural history museum in Vienna, I could visit and study there a while ago.

It has a wooden base and like my Brontosaurus Skull, I used 10mm brass tube and fittings from a small german manufacturer who produces this kind of stuff for more then 100 years now.

The base is made from hard wood with multiple coats of oil, colored varnish and real violin chellac polish and artisan color pigments from France and Spain. On the underside are felt pad’s.

I use real theater and movie techniques for wheatering the models for looking like an old specimen. And it’s made with mixed media, epoxy clay and Polyurethane resin. I only use the highest quality art paints and materials for my models in my little studio in the south of Germany.

The model you will get is like the one in the photos, but will be made by order for you. From parts I made. It’s a unique art sculpture with date and signed under the base.
